Hi, I’m back. Some of you may have noticed that my site was down a couple of weeks ago. At first, I thought it was an issue on my end. But it turned out to be an issue with my hosting server. The entire situation has been frustrating, but I don’t want to continue dwelling on it. Instead, I’ve decided to start with a clean slate, so please bear with me while I get my blog back up and running. In the meantime, I’m sharing 15 things you might not know about me.

- I wish I knew how to _____.
Relax more. I’m a perfectionist, but I’m trying to embrace that being done is better than perfect. Oh, and swim. - Early bird or night owl?
Early bird, I enjoy getting a head start on my day. Also, I can’t stay up late to save my life. I have never pulled an all-nighter, not even in college! - Last thing you splurged on?
A flight since Brett and I decided to forgo buying each other birthday and Christmas gifts this year for more experiences and memories. - Apps that you use every day?
I love Goodbudget for managing my finances & Instagram for watching stories. - Favorite holiday?
There’s nothing I love more than the Christmas season. - #1 vacation destination on your list?
My travel bucket list is long, but an African safari is at the top of my list. - Favorite dessert?
I’ll take anything with chocolate. - What’s a weird thing about you?
I pour my milk before my cereal. I blame my mom, but old habits die hard. - Pet peeve?
Nothing annoys me more than when people are chronically late. - Messy or tidy?
I would say tidy, but Brett would probably beg to differ. - Print books or e-books?
Print books forever. I love holding a physical book and turning the pages, seeing my progress through a book as the remaining pages dwindle, and the smell, of course. - Summer or winter?
I certainly prefer winter now that I live in Phoenix. The summer heat is brutal here. - What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I’ll never turn down Sheet Pan Steak with Lemon Zucchini + Brett’s mashed potatoes. - What is something you can’t live without that most people consider a luxury?
Eyelash extensions since my natural lashes are flat, short, and sparse. - What’s worth spending more on to get the best?
I prefer quality over quantity. Spending more on items that will last longer is worth it, especially on my mattress, cookware, and handbags.
I hope these 15 things about me helped you get to know me a little more. To read more about me, click here. I’ve always enjoyed reading my favorite bloggers’ posts about themselves to get to know them better. I also love getting to know my readers, so I hope you’ll share something about yourself with me in the comments! xo
Great post, I love when bloggers share a little bit about their lives!
This was so fun to read! An african safari sounds so amazing! Really any travel sounds amazing right now! xo, Biana
I’m so sorry you had issues with your blog. And what a fun way to let people get to know you a bit better 💜
I’m so sorry about your blog! That’s such a terrible experience. This was a great post though to get re-started! I am also a physical print kind of girl. I love holding physical books. I don’t even know how people could use an e-reader!
I totally connect on some of these, although the milk before cereal is hilarious! Nice to “meet” you! 🙂
Thanks for sharing a little bit about you. I live in Jamaica where it’s practically summer every day so I also prefer winter to summer since its usually cooler at that time. Plus my favourite holiday Christmas happens at that time.
I have never pulled an all -nighter either. I can barely make it up past 10 when we have an activity outside the house!
This is so fun! I want to do a post similar to this 🙂
Loved reading this and learning more about you! We have so much in common and P.S Love your Louis in the pic 🙂
I enjoyed reading through this list of things about you! I also love anything with chocolate and prefer printed books all the way! Thanks for sharing!
Sorry to hear you had some issues with your blog. 🙁 Glad that’s all figured out for you… or that you are back and working/posting again. It’s a bummer when our technology doesn’t work. Super fun post! Loved getting to know you through these questions. I have to agree… an African safari would be so dreamy!!
Yes! The smell of books! I’m with you, girl! And to give you tidbits about me, I did a 10 Things post a few months back: https://thestoneandtheoak.com/2020/07/17/10-things-that-make-me-happy/
PS. Your outfit is so cute!
Ah! I loved reading these and getting to know you a little better! An African Safari sounds AMAZING! And I totally agree with you, print books are sooo much better, though I will say, as a new mom, I have grown to love my ebook for middle of the night reading!
Ugh! Nothing worse than big technology glitches. At least you look super-cute while you’re getting things back in order! 🙂
I love reading Q and A’s! Such a fun way to get to know someone. Btw, I also prefer traveling over exchanging gifts. Memories last forever 🙂
I love getting to know bloggers a little better! An African Safari is definitely #1 on my travel bucket list. I like ebooks and print books but print will always be very special to me as a librarian. And I like that you included a mattress in what you’ve splurged on. We decided to do that this past year and it’s made such a difference!
This is so cute! Thanks for sharing all those fun facts! We have a few things in common — including those darn eyelashes. I’ve given up.
These type of posts always fun! I don’t think I’m really an early bird or a night owl. I can be both, but I wouldn’t say I’m more productive in either situation. hah

I love getting to know the person behind blogs I like! An African safari is one of my dreams as well!!
Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself! Chocolate is my favorite too. 🙂
1 & 9, I am SO with you! My coworkers are constantly late and it drives me INSANE.
Okay, I’m officially going to have to look into Goodbudget! I’ve heard great things. Also loving the outfit! <3
Great post Kelly! I agree 110% about the print books! I cannot bring myself to even try an e-book. Seems so wrong. 🙂
You and I have a lot in common! Christmas is my absolute favorite season as well and I get so frustrated when people are late. Chocolate is also my favorite dessert. So sorry about the frustration with your website. Hopefully it’s all worked out now!
I’m a print book person too. I recently had to read a PDF for a review and it took forever because I couldn’t concentrate. Good like with the fresh start!
This was a very fun and cute article. Thanks for sharing. I love sweets but don’t really care for ice cream!
I’ll take anything with chocolate too! <3
Oh my goodness I cannot stand it when people are constantly late. This is probably due to the fact that in high school I had an instructor that beat into our heads “to be early is to be on time,to be on time is to be late and if your late you should be executed”. So needless to say, even years after high school I am always early, and if I am even a few minutes late (read: on time) I freak. So, I sympathize with you!
I’m excited to have found your blog! I’m also an accountant who likes to blog about books. It’s also cool that you use Goodbudget too!
I loved this post! It’s so nice to learn more about other bloggers. I definitely can relate with desiring quality over quantity when it comes to things in life. I’d rather have less of something that’s going to last a long time (even friendships!) than a bunch of “cheaper” things that won’t be as fulfilling. Great post!
I love this post, now I feel like I know a little more about you.
