Swinging by Starbucks always makes me happy, whether it’s a cozy hot chocolate before seeing Christmas lights or an iced coffee in the summer while running errands. However, many Starbucks drinks are high in calories and sugar, so I tweaked some of my favorite drinks to make them healthier but don’t sacrifice flavor. Please let me know your thoughts if you try any of these drinks!

Iced Peppermint Mocha — 100 calories
An iced peppermint mocha is my go-to holiday drink. I prefer mine to be quite sweet but if you want to make it less sweet, add only one pump of peppermint syrup and no sugar-free vanilla syrup.
How to Order:
- Tall iced coffee with no classic syrup
- 1 pump mocha sauce
- 2 pumps peppermint syrup
- 2 pumps sugar free vanilla syrup
- Splash of cream (half & half)
Tuxedo Mocha — 120 calories
Tuxedo drinks are a chocolate lover’s dream. I tried to keep this one under 100 calories, but the white chocolate mocha sauce has three times the calories as the other syrups. It’s the perfect drink for the days you’re craving something rich and sweet.
How to Order:
- Tall iced coffee with no classic syrup
- 1 pump mocha sauce
- 1 pump white chocolate mocha sauce
- 2 pumps sugar free vanilla syrup
- Splash of cream (half & half)
Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino — 120 calories
Frappuccinos aren’t the healthiest, but sometimes I crave a blended coffee, and an iced coffee won’t do. I recommend substituting whole milk and skipping toppings and whipped cream. You can also reduce the pumps of syrup if needed.
How to Order:
- Tall peppermint mocha frappuccino
- Almond milk
- No chocolate curls topping
- No whipped cream
Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher — 50 calories
This one needs no customizing, which makes it easy to order. It’s perfect for days when a pick-me-up is needed, but you don’t necessarily want coffee. As the name states, it’s a light, refreshing drink, especially for those hot summer days.
How to Order:
- Tall Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher
I’m always looking for new ideas, so if you have any healthier Starbucks drinks suggestions, please share them in the comments! xo

That’s awesome to know that some of the holiday drinks are so low calorie. I usually get the white mocha and I think it is 400+ calories. I think I need to try something new next time!
I’d love to try the Berry Hibiscus Refresher!! Thank you for the ideas ♥️♥️♥️
I love the very berry hibiscus refresher, although I get it with lemonade so it’s not *quite* as healthy. So good on a hot day!

Thank you – these are some great tips – I’m always looking for ways to reduce my sugar intake. It would be lovely to also know how many calories are in the drinks before they were customised 🙂
