What’s Up Wednesday | November 2021

It’s that time again when I link up with Sheaffer and Shay for What’s Up Wednesday, where we share what’s been up with us this month. Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow? Brett has to work, but we’ll cook a little feast when he gets home. Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to having a four-day weekend. What are your plans for this weekend? Until then, here’s what we’ve been up to this month:

What we’ve been eating: I’ve been trying numerous new recipes lately, like Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Vegetable Sheet Pan and Lemon Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta (Brett’s new favorite!). I save all the recipes I try and like on Pinterest if you want to follow along for dinner ideas.

What I’m reminiscing about: Thanksgiving has me reminiscing about last year when Brett and I celebrated Thanksgiving at home. Even though it was just the two of us, we still made turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, scalloped corn, and stuffing. I’m excited to do the same thing this year.

What I’m loving: This is my favorite time of year. I know it’s controversial, but we’re those people who put up our Christmas decor on November 1. We want to enjoy it for as long as possible after spending so much time putting everything up. When do you put your holiday decor up?

What we’ve been up to: If you missed my last post, we adopted a puppy, Copper. We’ve been busy chasing him around to ensure he doesn’t get into anything, cleaning up his accidents, and training him despite his stubbornness. He sure is a cutie, though.

What I’m dreading: Can we not even mention the upcoming puppy training? In all fairness, Brett warned me, and he’s been a champ at cleaning up accidents and taking Copper out in the middle of the night, but some days the puppy phase feels endless.

What I’m working on: I’ve been working on an exclusive monthly newsletter I’ll start sending out in January. I’m so excited about connecting with you ladies in another forum! You can subscribe now by entering your email address on my blog sidebar.

What I’m excited about: Our house’s model home finally opened. I called almost every week to check because it kept getting delayed. When we signed our contract to build, we only saw the floor plan, and I was starting to question that decision because it’s hard to visualize with just a floor plan. But I’m even more excited about our house after seeing the model home.

What I’m watching/reading: We’re watching the new season of Narcos: Mexico on Netflix. As for what I’m reading, I’m currently reading Not a Happy Family by Shari Lapena. Also, I recently shared another book review with some great reads.

What I’m listening to: I’m binging the Dateline podcast, which is episodes of the show in audio form. Growing up, I watched the show with my mom, but now I prefer the podcast because I can listen while multitasking.

What I’m wearing: I still love these tank tops. The reviews reflect how good they are, and I wear them with everything, including jeans, joggers, and leggings. They come in many colors and styles (racerback, spaghetti strap, camisole).

What I’m doing this weekend: We’re planning to have a chill weekend — watch the Timberwolves games, drive by our lot (we just got notified that they started construction!), take the dogs to a dog park, followed by brunch, and watch football on Sunday.

What I’m looking forward to next month: My mom’s coming for the holidays, and I’m so excited. She’ll be here for ten days, and I’ve already started compiling a list of things to do with her. I’ll probably recap her trip on the blog and share everything we do.

As always, thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend. What’s been up with you this month? Let me know in the comments! xo

The puppy looks cute. I haven’t put up my Christmas decorations yet. I’m the few who end up doing decorations last minute. Happy for you that you have it all together ready for the holidays. The book your reading ‘Not a Happy Family ‘ is it sad romance?

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Mine was pretty chill, which was nice. I also saw Encanto in theaters and it was so cute.

Yay for your mom coming to visit. Can’t wait to hear all about it!

I’m belatedly catching up on my What’s Up Wednesday posts. Scalloped corn sounds really good! And we don’t decorate until around the first Sunday in Advent. I just don’t like months of decorations. And yay for a new house!!!

Just followed you on Pinterest; your dinner ideas sound delicious and I am always on the hunt for new recipes. How exciting to see the floor plan in real life. We built our own house and it was hard to visualize a few areas. Luckily our builder was great and made a few suggestions along the way with closets and living space that were perfect!

Hi there, I’m new to your blog. I hope your Thanksgiving was nice and relaxing! The 1st of Nov seems early to put up the tree, but nothing wrong if it makes you happy! I just put mine up today but I normally don’t do it until closer to Christmas. I hope your puppy settles in smoothly and quickly. Thanks for sharing!
