The holiday season is right around the corner, and I know people are beginning their shopping earlier this year — I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to share some of my favorite kitchen essentials with those looking for wishlist ideas. These would make great gifts for new homeowners, newlyweds, or anyone looking to treat themselves to a kitchen refresh.
7 Quart Crock-Pot: Slow cooker recipes are some of my favorites (like this chili recipe). This specific Crock-Pot has a programmable digital countdown timer. It’ll automatically switch to the warm setting after cooking, so you don’t need to worry about rushing home.
All-Clad Cookware Set: When Brett told me he wanted this set, I initially had a little sticker shock. Yes, they’re expensive, but they’re high quality and well made, and they’ll last a lifetime (they even have a lifetime warranty).
Cookbook + Cookbook Stand: I’m slowly cooking my way through Tieghan’s cookbook; I love that a beautiful photo accompanies each recipe. Also, the cookbook stand is both functional and decorative on our counter.
Cutting Board: We bought and loved this board so much that we asked for another one for Christmas. It’s versatile, with one side flat for chopping and the other having a perimeter well to catch juices. The best part is these are dishwasher safe.
OXO 10-Piece Container Set: This one is for all my organization lovers. I bought the 10-piece set because our apartment pantry isn’t very spacious, but we’ll have a decent-sized walk-in pantry in our new house, so I’m sure I’ll eventually add to our collection.
Spice Jars: I prefer the look of these over all the mismatched containers we had. These glass jars are nice because I can see when we’re running low on something. Also, these come with preprinted and blank spice labels.
Vitamix: Brett decided to upgrade our blender last year, and we could never go back. It was an investment, but we use it daily to make smoothies. In addition, we use it to make peanut butter (we never buy peanut butter anymore!) and soup.
Wusthof 7-Piece Knife Block Set: These German knives are another investment, but I know we’ll have them for years. I never knew what a difference a good knife could make until we got these knives. Be careful because they’re very sharp — Brett accidentally learned the hard way.
